Who makes more money DO or MD?
Who makes more money DO or MD?
Doctors of osteopathic medicine and Doctors of allopathic medicine will be paid equally in the United States because they both have the same training and compete for the same jobs.
For instance, an emergency room physician with a D.O. degree and osteopathic training will earn the same income as an emergency room physician with an MD degree and allopathic training.
But, if we look at overall statistics, MD's make more money than DO's since a larger percentage of DOs prefer to work in one of the primary care sectors, whereas MD's specialize more frequently, and doctors in specialties make more money than Doctors who perform primary care.
